These Chinese fakes are freely available on ebay. They are copies of licensed smurfs and it's easy to confuse them with the real thing. Some things to look out for are that they are generally slightly smaller than genuine licensed smurfs and are made of a harder material. Often their eyes don't look right but you'll have to compare them with the real thing to see what I mean! These fakes are now collectors' items in their own right.
Copies of 2008 Kinder Smurfs:
These copies are the same size as normal smurfs and came with fake Schleich tags. These were never licensed as normal smurfs, only as the smaller Kinder smurfs. There were originally 9 Kinder smurfs but only 8 copies were made. The missing smurf is Lazy Smurf.
